4. Surface Treating & Polishing



The initial bowl was treated with Josco's dark grey compound (Cutting compound) with sisal wheel to remove light scratches from machining in the making.


after removing light scratches with the sisal wheel, the black residue were removed with Windex which acts as a degreaser.


It is then polished with Josco's White compound (Polishing compound) and further cleaned with windex.

1. Marking the material



The sheet of aluminium were marked to guide the stretching & curving process

2. Template, Hammering & English Wheel



Using a wooden template with a concave surface in the middle, the material was hammered from outside to inside with the guidance of the marked material it is then smoothed out with an English wheel


3. The Initial Result



The initial results provided a bowl with rough surfaces from the use of metal hammer smoothed out with an English wheel, finalising a good bowl would mean surface treatment from scratches produced by the tools used to create the shape.
